Dispertan Pati Belum Dapat Jatah Vaksin PMK untuk Hewan Ternak

Di Kabupaten Pati, sampai saat ini tercatat masih ada ratusan hewan ternak yang suspek Penyakit Mulut dan Kuku (PMK). Meski begitu, Dinas Pertanian (Dispertan) Kabupaten Pati hingga kini belum mendapatkan jatah vaksin PMK bagi hewan ternak.
“Vaksin sampai saat ini belum (dapat). Dari pusat baru beberapa wilayah yang diprioritaskan,” ungkap Kepala Dispertan Pati Nikentri Meiningrum, Selasa (21/6/2022).
Daerah yang mendapat distribusi vaksin PMK saat ini, lanjut Niken, baru daerah-daerah di Jawa Timur, karena sebagai wilayah yang PMK-nya sudah menjadi wabah. Sedangkan wilayah Jawa Tengah belum termasuk.
“Jawa Tengah belum termasuk daerah wabah, kita ini tertular. Jadi sampai saat ini belum ada vaksin. Provinsi juga belum ada rencana distribusi vaksin,” jelasnya.
Penularan penyakit hewan ini, ungkap Niken, bukan hanya melalui kontak fisik. Melainkan juga bisa menyebar lewat udara. Sehingga, banyak hewan ternak di Pati dengan mudahnya terpapar PMK.
Atas kasus ini, Dispertan Pati tidak bisa memastikan penyebaran penyakit berasal dari mana. Tidak ada yang bisa disalahkan dan dianggap sebagai biang kerok. Langkah paling tepat menurutnya untuk saat ini, kata Niken adalah, melakukan antisipasi agar hewan ternak tidak terpapar PMK.
“Virus ini penyebarannya cukup cepat dan dapat melalui udara. Kita bisanya melakukan antisipasi, merawat, dan menjaga hewan ternak agar tidak terinfeksi. Caranya, dengan meningkatkan kesehatan hewan,” katanya.
Daya tahan hewan ternak menurutnya diperlukan agar tak terjangkit PMK. Untuk meningkatkan imunitas hewan ternak, Niken menyarankan agar peternak memberikan vitamin kepada hewan ternaknya. Baik itu vitamin A, C, D dan E, untuk meningkatkan kekebalan hewan
“Hewan ternak yang imunnya kuat bisa menghadapi virus ini. Tidak ada obat khusus untuk penyakit PMK. Kecuali pada hewan ternak yang sudah terkena, misal demam atau luka bisa diatasi dengan memberikan obat antibotik,” tandasnya.
